Who Roominiq is?
Roominiq was born from lived experience — the challenges international students and newcomers face when searching for affordable housing in Germany.
26 years ago, I moved to Germany as an immigrant engineer and quickly became aware of how difficult it was for international students and researchers to find fair, affordable housing. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to supporting them — helping many navigate the overwhelming complexity of the German housing system.
Most newcomers arrive without speaking German, while many elderly homeowners and traditional real estate agencies do not speak English. This language gap adds yet another barrier to securing a suitable home. Misunderstandings, exclusion, or missed opportunities often result from something as basic as not sharing a language.
Over the past two decades, I became a homeowner myself. I bought and renovated an old property, and even built a new home from scratch. This personal journey gave me a deep understanding of the real estate market — not only its potential, but also its constraints and challenges, especially for newcomers.
As someone with a strong digital background and deep experience in the AI field, I’ve also witnessed the growing divide between fully digital-native generations and elderly homeowners. While younger people move seamlessly across digital platforms, many older individuals are left behind — despite having the rooms and resources others so urgently need.
This is where Roominiq steps in.
